Fees
The BC Medical Services Plan (MSP) covers most aspects of fertility testing and surgery. MSP does not cover the cost of fertility treatment. At Genesis, your doctor will provide you with information about the best success rates for your particular circumstances and your most affordable treatment options. Our prices are the same or lower than all other lower mainland fertility clinics.
Please note: Prices are for Canadian residents only. Please contact our accounting department for a price list for non-Canadian residents. Prices are subject to change.

Frequently asked questions
Here are some answers to common questions to help you with the financial aspect of your treatment.
Is my fertility treatment income tax deductible?
The cost of most fertility treatments and medications qualifies as a medical expense under section 118.2 of the Income Tax Act. This means that costs relating to your fertility treatment may be claimed as a medical expense credit on your income tax return. Please be sure to save all your Genesis Fertility Centre receipts for income tax time.
How much will IVF really cost?
The total cost of an IVF cycle is approximately $8000-$9000. The total cost of an ICSI cycle is approximately $10,000. Here’s how it breaks down:
| Orientation | $200 |
| IVF | $5000 |
| Medications | $2000-$3000 |
| Freezing embryos | $750 |
ICSI costs an additional $1500. About 70% of our patients will have extra embryos created during their IVF or ICSI cycle. You will only pay for freezing embryos if you have extra embryos that you wish to freeze.
How can I pay for my fertility treatment?
At Genesis we accept cash, debit card, Visa, Mastercard, certified cheque or bank draft. Other options include paying through a bank loan or line of credit, using a financing company, or using a health trust if you are an incorporated or self-employed business owner.
How do I arrange financing?
Genesis does not offer financing directly, but we can help direct you to a financing company and provide them with the necessary information about your treatment.
There are specialized financing companies who offer financing for medical procedures. Interest rates are usually less than normal credit card rates. If you are interested in finding out more about financing options, please refer to the link below:
What is a health trust?
Revenue Canada federal legislation allows business owners to deduct virtually 100% of their dental/vision/medical expenses using a Health and Welfare Trust. All incorporated or self-employed business owners of any size and their active shareholders, employees and dependents can qualify. Two companies that can help business owners establish a health trust include:
HUB Financial Inc.
Pacific First
Cycle Monitoring For Other Clinics
We are happy to assist with the monitoring of cycles at other clinics because we realize this will help to reduce the cost, time commitment and stress associated with the treatment cycle. However, we do not have any financial arrangements with other clinics, so we must bill you for each of the services we provide. For your convenience, there are 2 payment options available:
Option 1: Genesis secures a credit card number from you before the start of your cycle monitoring. Each service will be automatically charged to your credit card, and a receipt will be mailed out to you each time a service is provided to you.
Option 2: A deposit of $1500.00 is made to Genesis before the start of your cycle monitoring. Each service will be deducted from this deposit at the time it is rendered. When your monitoring is completed, any remaining balance will be refunded to you along with a detailed receipt.
An accounting clerk will contact you to discuss your choice of payment prior to your cycle monitoring start. Genesis helps patients attending clinics all around the world. We help with testing, treatment and medications. We can fill prescriptions for most fertility medications at our pharmacy. We can also rewrite/cosign most other prescriptions sent to us from the other clinic so they can be filled in B.C.
